On October 23rd a team of stylists from Italy and London showcased their technical cuts, colours and creative up-dos at the hair show ‘Fusion Night Experience at Alcatraz’ in Milan.
The theme for the show was Continents and stylists used their creativity to represent Africa, Asia, Europe and America.
I had the pleasure of representing Africa 🙂 a continent close to my heart.
Take a look at the pics and tell me what you think! xo

On the runway
On the 28th May, I travelled from London to Vilnius, Lithuania with five models for the shooting of the ‘Tonight We Tanqueray’ commercial, directed by Anders Hallberg. Our hours were long and consisted of being on set by 9am latest and leaving around 2/3am. Luckily for us, after a certain hour we were able to sample the delicious cocktails which were being used as props, made by Tanqueray Gin mixologist. The group I was with was super fun and energetic and in between takes were spent with lots of story telling and laughter. By the end of the four day trip we felt as though we were best of friends 🙂 The commercial features soul singer Aloe Blacc’s hit song ‘Tonight Downtown” and can be seen here. Enjoy!

For the last 3 weeks I have been busy working in the Emilio Pucci showroom for their market. For those who don’t know, after every fashion week buyers from around the world make their way to the various designers showrooms to place their orders for the following season. Models are needed for this somewhat informal showing of the clothes to the clients.
It is very tiring job as the days are packed with appointments and it requires many many outfit changes as the clients make their selections.
On the other hand, it is every girls dream to get dressed up in the latest looks straight off the runway.
Pucci’s S/S 2012 collection was inspired by the sultry and passionate persona of haute gypsies. Many of the looks I absolutely adored!
Hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed wearing Pucci’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection! 🙂
On Sunday 25th and Monday 26th September 2011 over 1000 people attended the Milano Hair Show.
Organised for the first time in 1983 by London Hair Stylist Tony Rizzo, the Alternative Hair Show has always been an event gathering creative artists from all over the world, with the purpose of raising funds for the research against leukemia, lymphomas and other blood cancers. Over the last 28 years, $8 million pounds has been raised.
The show promised hair trends and new ideas for professionals who want to keep up to date and are looking for creative inspiration for their salons. Demonstrations were given by leading Hair Stylists from major companies in the sector.
Backstage and ready for the catwalk
Italian contestants, selected in the previous months according to the photos of their creations, showcased their talent and their “visionary skill” dressing, making up and styling models that paraded in a total look catwalk where the key word was creativity.
The winner will have the opportunity to fly to London to take part in the International Visionary Award on October 16th, 2011.
I’m very excited to be sharing my modelling world with my friends, family, everyone in the fashion industry and around the world.
I’m Elle King, a Barbadian model who’s always been fascinated with the idea of the catwalk. My modelling career started in Barbados during Barbados Fashion Week but while at the show I met a booker from New York and needless to say she liked what she saw, so once I finished school it was off to the Big Apple for me! Although modelling wasn’t my first choice (my dream is to study veterinary medicine as I love animals and science) in the end the camera got the better of me.
I’ve been fortunate to work in fashion locales such as New York, London, Milan and even as far as South Africa, Lithuania and Ecuador. I’m currently in Italy for Milan Fashion Week and on September 25th & 26th I was part of the interCHARM Milano Hair Show 2011.

Travelling all around the world can get crazy when I think about it! I can remember my first shoot with local designer Simon Peter and now I’m working with established international designers such as Emilio Pucci, Halston, Patricia Field, Tom Scott, Monique Lhuillier and Yeohlee Teng and brands such as Woolworths SA, Tchibo Germany, Tanqueray Gin, Vichy Normaderm by L’Oreal and the list continues to grow!
Over the next 3 weeks I will be working with Emilio Pucci , can’t wait to share those posts with you!
